New Orleans fundraiser with Dr. Mr. PZ Myers

December 1, 2009

Hey Thomasites,

The Thomas Society and the Students for Free Thought at Ohio State are taking a service project trip over Spring Break. We are going to be building and reparing houses damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Yes, you read correctly, Christians and Atheists working together. And hanging out on Bourbon Street.

So, along those lines, Ashley Paramore, aka My Favorite Atheist in the World, and I will be doing a live video fundraiser sometime during the first two weeks of January. We are going to be doing all kinds of kooky, silly stuff that will include  giveaways, and a stump the preacher segment.

And, in a serious coup, the (in)famous PZ Myers has agreed to do an online phone interview with yours truly. Thanks PZ!!!

More details to follow, but this is going to be a great night. Be prepared to tune in and give to our trip.

Could you briefly explain what an “online phone interview” is, for the benefit of us pre-technological old people?

I wish I could go to New Orleans with you. That sounds like the greatest thing ever.

(Though the recent plotline of “Dexter” makes me a little queasy about charitable house-building.)

It’s going to be a great trip. Maybe you should just fly on down and join us.

Basically, we will be having a video chat that will allow everyone to watch. We are going to have PZ phone in on a Skype line and I’m going to interview him that way.
